2.
Katrina affected areas: We continue our work with
Children's Health Fund. We have managed to donate
physician services, train staff on AEDs and will be
organizing an ACLS/PALS course for all staff involved in
August of this year.
3.
Pediatric HIV: We are continuing our efforts to work with
the Clinton Foundation, UNICEF, Indian Academy of
Pediatrics. They are beginning massive training programs
for Pediatric ART therapy and prevention of maternal child
prevention. We should then be in position to work closely
with particular institutions exposed to large vulnerable
populations. We have also hopefully set up an Observership
at the University of Miami for Dr. Philip Verghese from
CMC-Vellore.
4.
Telemedicine: We will be meeting with the MRC in South
Africa and looking at doing a pilot program for triage
purposes
5.
Andaman and Nicobar Multirehabilitation Center: We have
received the generous support of Baptist Health Systems
and the use of their telemedicine platform. The islands
have the ability for videoconferencing. We are taking an
IT specialist to obtain an IP address to enable the use of
webcasts for teaching purposes.
6. Dialysis
program: We are working with Dr. Syed Hashmi to begin a
dialysis program in Pakistan. We have obtained 3 dialysis
machines from Clinics Can Help Foundation and are working on
location and procuring dialysis supplies. |
