Sangha and Microenterprise:
Sangha is aware that training
the disabled children would be most effective if they are
also able to gain economic independence. Towards that end,
Sangha has already started a computer training program. The
participating disabled children are ones who are hearing
impaired or have musculoskeletal disability. These children
will form a corporation and become self sustaining. They
have already obtained their first contract to work on data
entry from the local government.
Our second microenterprise
will be in the field of handicrafts. We are working closely
with Gram Shree and Manav Sadhna and will begin our first on
site training program in May. Live training sessions will be
integral to their success as exchange of ideas and designs,
as well as training may be with multiple groups on mainland
India and elsewhere.
