Sangha is working with the Medical Research Council of
South Africa ( www.mrc.ac.za)
on 2 projects. Sangha has successfully begun a hybrid
teledermatology program. By partnering with Dr. Noah Craft
and VisualDx (www.visualdx.com),
our pilot clinic, Grabouw Clinic in Capetown will be able
to input patient data into an interactive adaptive
software and obtain diagnoses and treatment options of
children with skin lesions related to HIV which have been
difficult to diagnose. The remaining patients can then be
diagnosed or receive treatment options through
telemedicine. Because of the software, there will be fewer
patients for telemedicine. More excitingly, South African
physicians will be inputting data into the software
program, helping to increase our knowledge and increasing
our database translating to improved quality and efficacy
of care for patients.
